NORFOLK SOUTHERN APPOINTS SENIOR GENERAL COUNSEL

   Norfolk Southern Corp. has named Joseph C. Dimino, James A. Squires and F. Blair Wimbush as senior general counsel for the Norfolk, Va.-based parent of Norfolk Southern Railway Co.

   Dimino, who has responsibility for corporate matters, joined NSX in 1976 as an attorney in Washington, D.C., and was named general counsel corporate in 2000.

   Squires, who has responsibility over financial and other business matters, joined NS in 1980 as an attorney in Norfolk, and was named senior general attorney in 2001.

   Wimbush, with responsibility over litigation and operations matters, joined the company in 1980 as an attorney in Roanoke, Va. He was named general counsel operations in 2000.
