Norwegian shipowner Arne Naess Jr. dies in fall
Arne Naess Jr., a Norwegian shipowner and ship charterer, died on Jan. 13 while climbing in the Groot Drakenstein mountains near Cape Town, South Africa. He was 66.
Naess, a nephew of shipping magnate Erling Naess, was climbing alone when he slipped and fell 320 feet to his death.
An experienced mountaineer, he had led a team of Norwegian climbers to the top of Mount Everest in 1985.
Naess was the former husband of singer Diana Ross.
