Japanese liner carrier NYK has entered a joint venture with Bolloré Transport & Logistics Kenya Ltd. and Toyota Tsusho Corp. to set up Bolloré NYK Auto Logistics Ltd., a logistics company to handle finished cars for the Kenyan market.
According to the companies, Kenya’s rising middle class is expected to generate increased demand for finished car imports and become a gateway port for other countries across East Africa.
At Kenya’s port of Mombasa, the joint venture will offer a variety of services, including inland transport and pre-delivery inspections, as well as car storage and customs clearance.
