NYK implementing South Atlantic chassis charge

NYK Line said that effective Sept. 2 it will implement a chassis provision charge (CPC) for motor carrier transport moving under NYK import or export merchant haulage bills of lading when chassis from the South Atlantic Chassis Pool are used.
The CPC will be $14.50 per chassis per day charged directly to motor carriers when chassis provided by NYK are used for motor transport not arranged by the liner carrier (merchant haulage). The CPC does not apply when NYK arranges the motor transport (carrier haulage).
NYK said the CPC is in addition to any other applicable terms, conditions and charges filed in NYK’s governing tariffs, service contracts and the Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreement.
The South Atlantic Chassis Pool currently covers NYK nominated facilities in the cities of Atlanta and Savannah, Ga.; Jacksonville and Tampa, Fla., Birmingham, Ala.; Charleston, S.C.; Charlotte and Wilmington, N.C. – Chris Dupin
