NYK Logistics (Americas) buys Texas firm Bruni International
NYK Logistics (Americas) Inc. has acquired Laredo, Texas-based customs brokerage, freight forwarding, warehouse and distribution services company Bruni International.
Financial details were withheld but NYK Logistics said the purchase comprises all Bruni’s assets including the offices and warehouse facilities located in Killam Industrial Park in Laredo.
The Texas was founded as a sole proprietorship in May 1982 by E M. 'Rocky' Bruni who joins NYK Logistics as a senior vice president in the international services group. He will also manage the integration of the two companies.
“This acquisition significantly increases our capabilities to serve Mexico market based customers in North America and throughout the world,” said Tom Perdue, NYK Logistics’ chief operating officer.
Rocky Bruni said of the sale, “Joining NYK was an easy decision for me. This merger enhances the service scope and value for our existing and future customers. I am also very happy for all of my employees who will now have opportunities for further development and growth in their professional careers.”
