NYK Auto Logistics India will operate a finished-car logistics terminal at the west coast India port.
NYK Auto Logistics India Pvt. Ltd. (NALI), an NYK Group company that provides finished-car logistics services, announced plans to operate a logistics terminal beginning in June at Pipavav port.
According to a release from NALI, the facility will be able to handle 250,000 cars on an annual basis and will provide “value-added services such as PDI (pre-delivery inspection) and make use of RFID (radio frequency identification) for tracking and tracing.
“Since exports of finished cars by automobile companies are expected to increase in the west coast of India, NALI will attempt to accommodate that strong demand by building and operating a stockyard in APM Terminals Pipavav,” the company said of the move.
Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd., which is located in the state of Gujarat in the northwestern part of India, is part of APM Terminals.
