OCEAN GROUP BUYS DUTCH FORWARDER

   Ocean Group, the parent company of MSAS Global Logistics, has acquired
Dutch ocean freight forwarder Malenstein Rotterdam BV.
   Malenstein, which had sales of $14.5 million last year, offers ocean
freight consolidation for shipments to the U.S., ocean freight importing
from the Far East, European trucking and warehousing services. A.W. Fenton, a U.S. customs
broker acquired by Ocean last year, acts as Malenstein’s customs clearance agent and
deconsolidator in the U.S. Midwest.
   Ocean will integrate the small Malenstein operation into the MSAS
network as part of a strategy to expand MSAS’s ocean forwarding business. MSAS is the
world’s second largest air forwarder behind Japan’s Nippon Express Worldwide.
