The less-than-truckload carrier will enter into an alliance with third-party logistics provider Mallory Alexander International Logistics, LLC to enhance its ocean forwarding offering.
Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL) will enter into an alliance with third-party logistics provider Mallory Alexander International Logistics, LLC to enhance ODFL’s ocean forwarding offering, the less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier said in a statement.
Under the alliance, Mallory Alexander will be responsible for all ocean freight forwarding back-office and operational services, while Old Dominion will serve as a sales agent for the 3PL.
“This strategic alliance will greatly enhance our ocean freight forwarding offering, enabling our customers to access Mallory Alexander’s extensive suite of services, including their state-of-the-art technology and operational systems,” ODFL Global Vice President Wayne Bersch said of the alliance.
“This partnership allows us to expand our service offering across a wider horizon with the premier LTL carrier in the industry,” added Mallory Alexander President Neely Mallory. “We expect it will be mutually beneficial, expanding each of our businesses and enabling us to provide our best-in-class services to even more customers across the globe.”
Based out of Memphis, Tenn., Mallory Alexander specializes in a variety of global logistics and supply chain services including public and contract warehousing, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, import and export services, consulting, and intermodal trucking and transportation.
Thomasville, N.C.-based ODFL offers several logistics services in addition to its core LTL services including ground and air expedited transportation, supply chain consulting, transportation management, truckload brokerage, container delivery and warehousing. In addition, the company offers a consumer product for household moving, OD Household Services, and, through partnerships, offers international freight forwarding services throughout the world.
