OFAC adds entities to blocked list

U.S. citizens are prohibited from engaging in transactions with named enterprises.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has placed several entities on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List for ties to previously barred companies and controllers.
All property and interest in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction of these entities are blocked, and U.S. citizens generally are prohibited from engaging in transactions with them.
Placed on the list for connections to Fleurette Properties Limited, blocked in December for “serious human rights abuse or corruption,” were African Trans International Holdings, Fleurette Africa Resources, Fleurette African Transport, Fleurette Energy and Moku Goldmines, all of the Netherlands; Interlog DRC, Karibu Africa Services and Kitoko Food Farm, all of the Republic of the Congo; and Moku Mines D’or SA of Switzerland.
Almerina Properties Limited, Iron Mountain Enterprises and Sanzetta Investments Ltd., all of the British Virgin Islands, were blocked because of links to Oriental Iron Co., which was placed on the list for being owned or controlled by Dan Gertler, a person whose property and interests are blocked.
Ventora Development SASU of the Congo was placed on the list for ties to Africa Horizons Investment Ltd., which is blocked, according to the Federal Register.
The Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List and additional information concerning OFAC sanctions program are available on OFAC’s website.
