OIA Global acquires American Cargo Express

Logistics services provider OIA Global has acquired Union, N.J.-based freight forwarder American Cargo Express, with the expectation of increasing its presence in the Canadian market.

   OIA Global has acquired Union, N.J.-based freight forwarder American Cargo Express, with the expectation of increasing its presence in the Canadian market.
   Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
   “Joining forces with ACE expands OIA’s footprint into the highly competitive Canadian market of Toronto, and adds to our global network of locations which includes countries in Europe, Asia and South America,” said Charlie Hornecker, OIA Global’s chief executive officer, in a statement.
   ACE was started by Rick Trizano and Chris Murray in 1988. In addition to forwarding, the company provides warehousing and trade management services. It has more than 200 employees and 11 offices.
