Omni Specialized takes over Tennant’s flatbed business

Colona, Ill.-based Tennant, which has been in business for more than 70 years, is known for its transport of over-dimensional construction and agricultural equipment.

   Omni Specialized has completed the acquisition of flatbed assets from Tennant Truck Lines.
   Financial terms of the deal and the number of flatbed trailers obtained were not disclosed by the companies.
   Colona, Ill.-based Tennant has been in business for more than 70 years, and is known for its transport of over-dimensional construction and agricultural equipment.
   The Tennant Truck Lines name and authority will continue to operate as a van carrier under the ownership of Josh Kaburick, principal of E. L. Henderson.
   Two industry veterans operate Omni Specialized, including Thomas Witt, as president, and Earl Coleman, who oversees financial management of the company.
   Omni Specialized, also based Colona, operates terminals in Baltimore and Wichita, Kan.
   The purchase of Tennant’s flatbed assets “is our first step in establishing a platform from which to grow both organically and through acquisition,” Witt said.
