Rail provider and industrial real estate company OmniTRAX is making the purchase of the Heart of Texas Railroad through an unnamed affiliate, OmniTRAX said.
The rail line is being renamed to Central Texas & Colorado River Railway, LLC. It operates 68 miles of track, running west from Lometa, Texas, where it interchanges with the Berkshire Hathaway-owned BNSF Railway to Brady, Texas.
Potential new customers of the rail line include an aggregate quarry, a cement factory and frac sand producers.
Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, and the deal still requires approval from the Surface Transportation Board.
