OOCL AND WAN HAI TO START SECOND ASIA/MIDEAST JOINT LINK
Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line and Wan Hai of Taiwan will start a new joint “Korea/Middle East Service” from April 1.
This is their second joint venture in the Asia/Mideast trade, following the China / Middle East Service launched in July last year.
The new fixed day weekly KMS link will have six ships of 1,200 TEUs calling at Incheon, Kwangyang, Pusan, Keelung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Dubai, Dammam, Bandar Abbas, Karachi, Penang, Singapore, Hong Kong, Keelung and Incheon.
Both OOCL and Wan Hai currently offer other intra-Asian services to the Mideast in association with other carriers – Wan Hai with Hanjin Shipping and Hyundai Merchant Marine, and OOCL jointly with Yangming Line, Malaysia International Shipping Corp. and Pacific International Lines.
