OOCL launches new intra-Asia service

The Hong Kong-based ocean carrier will launch its standalone KTX8 loop, which connects Japan, China and Taiwan with Thailand and Vietnam, next week.

Ocean carrier OOCL will launch the intra-Asia KTX8 service next week.
Using three vessels, the loop will operate with a rotation of Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Shekou, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh (Cat Lai), Kaohsiung and Tokyo.
The three vessels on the KTX8 include the Nordviolet, the Nordluchs and the Bindi Ipsa, according to OOCL’s most recent online service schedules.
The vessels have an average capacity of approximately just over 1,700 TEUs.
OOCL said earlier this month the service will commence operations Dec. 5 from Tokyo. The Nordviolet will sail this voyage according to the carrier’s most recent online service schedules.
However, OOCL’s most recent schedules also illustrate the Nordluchs will sail a few days sooner on the service, commencing operations from Laem Chabang Dec. 2.
