ORDERPRO LOGISTICS ADDS LOAD-MATCHING FUNCTION THROUGH ACQUISITION
OrderPro Logistics Inc., a virtual third-party logistics provider that uses its own software to manage logistics relationships for customers, said it has agreed to buy Loadbook Inc., an Internet-based, automated load matching service for motor carriers based in Scottsdale, Ariz.
OrderPro software primarily serves shippers. The acquisition will give OrderPro customers access to a wider range of carriers through Loadbook's network, according to a OrderPro. Loadbook ties to more than 1,000 U.S. as well as many Canadian carriers, OrderPro President Richard Windorski said in an interview.
OrderPro is in the process of acquiring some asset-based companies, including a deal for TransMex U.S.A., an intermodal trucking company with operations in the United States and Mexico, Windorski said.
Loadbook previously operated under the name V.R. Systems Solutions Inc. until mid-November, 2001, when it moved from Barrie, Ontario to Arizona and reincorporated as a U.S. company.
