OSHA TO RECHARTER MARITIME ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The U.S. Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration will recharter its committee devoted to safety and health in the maritime industry.

The Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health will advise OSHA on maritime issues that result in more effective enforcement, training and outreach programs.

In January, the agency solicited nominations from the industry to participate in the committee. A list of those selected for the Maritime Advisory Committee will be released soon.

OSHA said the new charter of the committee will be published in the Federal Register in two weeks.
