OWL opens air freight office near Heathrow
Non-vessel-operating common carrier Ocean World Lines has opened an air freight office and warehouse near London’s Heathrow Airport.
The new 10,000-square-foot facility will support OWL’s expanding inbound and outbound air freight services between the Far East, United States, Australia, Middle East and Europe. Services at the facility include cargo pickup and consolidation, trucking, warehousing, cargo packing and crating, cargo insurance, cargo deconsolidation and distribution.
The OWL Air U.K. staff is security certified with the U.K. government and the facility is equipped with X-ray machines for on-the-spot cargo scanning to expedite the shipping process.
Paula Bellamy, a 23-year industry veteran, will head the office. She joined OWL six years ago in sales, warehouse operations and management.
OWL Air U.K. handles all types of cargoes, including regular moves for touring companies, such as symphony orchestras, film and video production crews, dance troupes, rock bands, opera, choruses, theater productions, circuses and museum exhibits.
