Oxfam, one of the United Kingdom’s larger charity retailers, is replacing major purchasing and supply chain systems to focus on a supply of new products.
The chain also wants to better track and report the products donated to its 690 shops, both to know what it has available and to keep better financials related to inventory.
The charity retailer will implement K3 Retail & Business Solutions’ supply chain, purchasing, and merchandising suite; warehouse management; and its retail store portal solution K3 to reduce costs and increase donations. Oxfam said it believes the change will improve operations and speed up processes by removing some of the manual tasks currently done by its Trading Division.
Colin Bain, managing director at K3 Retail & Business Solutions, said the system is simple and should be easily mastered by Oxfam’s 22,000 volunteers.
Andrew Horton, Oxfam’s director of trading, said “in addition the warehouse management solution will allow us to manage our shop and e-commerce operations much more efficiently.”
