Pacer International said its Pacer Distribution Services (PDS) subsidiary has added a facility in Sumner, Wash., near the ports of Seattle and Tacoma.
The company began warehousing and transloading operations July 1, and will also offer trucking services to support the facility and customers in the area.
Pacer's warehousing and distribution unit has been operating in the Southern California area for more than 20 years. PDS provides services including public and contract warehousing, transloading, cross-docking, consolidation and deconsolidation, local and regional trucking and harbor drayage.
PDS has hired Mike O'Malley as vice president with sales and operational responsibilities in the Pacific Northwest and Southern California territories.
