The logistics services provider has recently started operating a 12.5-hectare breakbulk facility at the Port of Rotterdam.
Pacorini Metals opened its own breakbulk terminal at the Port of Rotterdam on Aug. 1 to handle non-ferrous metals and possibly other commodities, the Port of Rotterdam Authority said.
The terminal has an area of 12.5 hectares, which includes a 600-meter-long quay and a 10-meter depth.
In preparation for the new terminal, Pacorini Metals received a Liebherr mobile crane at the port July 31, which has the capability to load and unload breakbulk cargo weighing up to 124 tons. The crane arrived aboard the Meri, a 4,359-deadweight-ton, heavy-load carrier registered in Finland.
The logistics services provider’s new terminal was formerly occupied by fruit handling company, Seabrex, until 2010. Since then, the space was used to store non-ferrous metals.
Based out of Zug, Switzerland, Pacorini Metals has offices throughout the world.
