PANALPINA INTRODUCES LOGISTICS E-COMMERCE SYSTEM
Panalpina, the Swiss logistics and forwarding group, has launched an e-commerce system that incorporates an electronic portal.
The company said its system, called e-net, “offers an holistic solution that links both internal and external systems.” The e-net service comprises an e-portal, called Logistics Management System and Panalpina’s internal applications.
“The e-portal has a clear process orientation and forms a gateway to carrier, industry, client and finance portals, as well as electronic marketplaces,” Panalpina said. It forms a bridge between internal Panalpina applications and external e-platforms, enabling the exchange of functionalities and data.
Panalpina said its Logistics Management System portal provides customers with support for supply chain management concepts. It links warehouse management systems; tracking and tracing applications; customer order management systems; and purchase order tracking.
