Pasha’s new ship to make first voyage this week

The stevedoring and ocean freight company’s new vessel Marjorie C can carry both containers and roll-on/roll-off cargo.

Marjorie C, Pasha Hawaii’s new container and roll-on/roll-off vessel, is scheduled to make its first voyage this week, departing from San Diego to Honolulu, on Friday, May 8, according to the company’s website.
The ship is expected to call the National City Marine Terminal in San Diego, which is operated by Pasha.
Pasha entered the trade between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii in 2005 with its first ship, Jean Anne, a pure roll-on/roll-off vessel.
The company is expanding into the container trade with both the Marjorie C and through its acquisition of Horizon Lines’ Hawaii business.
Pasha said last month the U.S. Department of Justice cleared its acquisition of the Hawaii trade-lane business of Horizon Lines and that it anticipated final closing of the deal before the end of the second quarter.
The Marjorie C was built at the VT Halter shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss. Monday, the ship was seen transiting up West Coast of Mexico.
