PeopleNet, TMW intertwine efforts

PeopleNet and TMW Systems have announced a series of integrations and enhancements as they further their relationship and dual-offerings this week.
PeopleNet, which develops integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems, made the announcements at the TMW Systems TransForum 2012 User Conference and Exhibition held in Orlando, Fla., this week.
The first announcement is a joint effort to provide new integration features for TMW’s TruckMate and TMWSuite to make drivers and dispatchers more efficient. The improvements will benefit those using TMW systems and PeopleNet’s TABLET and BLU computers.
“By further expediting in-cab and back-office workflows, we are adding new efficiencies that generate even greater productivity throughout fleet operations,” said PeopleNet Vice President of Tailored Solutions Randy Boyles.
For TruckMate, the companies have improved the embedded decision-tree forms within Automated Workflow for prompting the driver upon stop arrival, as well as supporting new “geofences,” freight-bill management, and automatic driver prompts based on geography.
TMWSuite integrations have been extended to include signature capture for fleets equipped with a PeopleNet TABLET, allowing the system to automatically enter accepted forms into its billing system.
The second round of integration announcements came between PeopleNet’s Vehicle Management engine data and TMW Systems’ TMW Data Warehouse to enable custom ad-hoc reporting across key operational metrics such as asset utilization, compliance with fueling programs, on-time deliveries, idle time and percentage, and profit analysis.
The pairing will allow for comparative reports to benchmark performance, highlight areas for improvement, and denote progress on any user-defined timetable.
In the announcements, the companies signaled a continuation of their relationship in the coming months.
