Visibility and predictive analytics platform will be used for truckload, LTL, rail and ocean shipments.
Chicago-based FourKites has announced that PetSmart has selected its supply chain visibility and predictive analytics platform to track the location and temperature of shipments moving across North America by truckload, less-than-truckload and rail, as well as international shipments moving by ocean.
The largest specialty pet retailer will use FourKites’ proprietary network of telematics device partnerships, connected to more than 4.2 million assets in the United States, to track the real-time location of shipments moving across the country and to continuously update arrival time predictions for each shipment. It will use those updates to manage store associate time through real-time shipment alerts automatically delivered to store leaders, FourKites said.
PetSmart also will use FourKites Insights, an advanced analytics product, to identify insights on key operational metrics, including dwell times at delivery locations, and customer, carrier and lane analytics to proactively drive continuous improvement.
“As a company that pet parents across the country trust to keep their pets healthy and happy, PetSmart is leveraging cutting-edge supply chain technology to optimize the experience for their customers, both two-legged and four,” said Mathew Elenjickal, FourKites’ founder and CEO.
