Chatham, N.J.-based Preferred Freezer Services (PFS) is expanding in China.
The company in November opened a 25,000-square-meter temperature-controlled warehouse at Lingang Park near Yangshan port in Shanghai. A second facility is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012 in Waigaoqiao, while a third facility is under construction in Tianjin.
PFS said it seeks to raise standards for refrigerated frozen foods and distribution and food handling safety in the country.
“The high quality facility construction, inventory management systems and customer service that we provide in the USA is the same high quality that is now available to our customers in China,” said Tim McLellan, managing director of international development. “In addition, PFS offers a complete logistics solution, having partnered with Sinotrans.”
PFS has grown from a single facility in 1989 to 25 locations in New York/New Jersey, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Vietnam and China.
