PILOT AIR FREIGHT LAUNCHES HOME DELIVERY SERVICES

   Pilot Air Freight has launched a nationwide home delivery department to meet increased demand for high-speed and high-quality air freight services in the business-to-consumer market.

   Pilot Home Delivery will provide time-definite transit through its 65 U.S. locations nationwide transportation network to retailers and manufacturers who ship consumer items directly to customers’ homes. The company said it will make pickups from anywhere in the United States, while guaranteeing three to five days’ transit to most points.

   Pilot will offer several levels of service, from Deluxe, which includes nationwide coverage, time-definite transit, scheduled delivery appointments, special handling requirements and returns/repacking; to Premier, which provides the above features plus delivery to the homeowner's room of choice, unpacking, set-up, minor assembly and debris removal.

   Pilot's Home Delivery customers include Panasonic and Neiman Marcus. Pilot developed the new product through a service it has been providing for QVC Network, a home shopping retailer.

   John Kelemen, national account manager, has been promoted to director of the new department. Prior to joining Pilot, he was in sales at DHL Worldwide Express.
