P&O NEDLLOYD INTRODUCES EMERGENCY INLAND FUEL CHARGE
P&O Nedlloyd said that it will introduce a 5-percent “emergency inland fuel surcharge” on all transatlantic shipments requiring inland transport in Europe, effective March 23.
The surcharge will apply to shipments to and from the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
The emergency inland fuel surcharge will cover rising fuel costs in Europe which are being passed on by suppliers of inland transportation to P&O Nedlloyd, the Anglo-Dutch carrier said.
P&O Nedlloyd’s plan to have an inland fuel surcharge in Europe was announced at about the same time as the 10-percent fuel surcharge on inland transport rates in the U.S. to be introduced by P&O Nedlloyd and other carriers of the Trans-Atlantic Conference
