P&O NEDLLOYD TO RAISE CANEX WESTBOUND RATES

   P&O Nedlloyd will increase the westbound rates on its Canadian Express
service by $120 per TEU and $150 per FEU, effective Sept. 1.
   "We have seen a surge in demand for space on the express service,"
said
Pieter Bas Bredius, senior vice president for P&O Nedlloyd’s transatlantic
trades.
   The CANEX service calls Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven and Montreal.
   The independent carrier’s action follows rate increases implemented by
the Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement and the Mediterranean Conference
for westbound cargoes moving between Europe, the Mediterranean and the
United States.
