Port driver protests target Pac 9, XPO

Starting today, drayage drivers working for XPO Logistics subsidiaries XPO Cartage and XPO Port Services in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach plan to join truckers that have been on strike against Pacific 9 Transportation since July 2015.

The Teamsters Port Division and its affiliate Justice for Port Truck Drivers said Sunday that drayage drivers in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will target Pacific 9 Transportation (Pac 9) and XPO Logistics in protests today.
Drivers who have been on strike against Pac 9 since July 2015 to protest what they say are unfair labor practices, including misclassification and “wage theft,” will be joined on strike by drivers the Teamsters say are misclassified truckers at XPO Cartage and XPO Port Services, wholly-owned subsidiaries of  XPO Logistics.
The Teamsters and Justice for Port Truck Drivers said picketing will begin at 6 a.m. at company yards and at 8 a.m. “ambulatory picketing” will move to marine terminals at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
