Port infrastructure conference scheduled in Coral Gables
Public-private ventures to improve seaport and intermodal container yard infrastructure will be among the main topics at an industry conference Dec. 3-5 in Coral Gables.
The North American Port and Intermodal Finance and Investment Conference, being organized by Potomac, Md.-based Infocast Inc., will feature public and private sector experts, ranging from a keynote address from former transportation secretary Norman Mineta to senior executives from port authorities, shipping services companies, and the financial community.
Conference organizers said that with the wave of maritime cargo volumes already taxing the capabilities of U.S. ports, and with volumes expected to increase dramatically in the coming years, the government and private sector will have to work together to meet infrastructure demands and find funding for needed expansions.
The conference is being held at Westin Colonnade Hotel in Coral Gables. Registration information is available at www.infocastinc.com.
