Effective Oct. 2, the terminal’s hours of operation will expand to 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the in-gate closing at 10:00 p.m., according to a statement from the U.S. Gulf Coast port.
The Port of Houston is extending gate hours at its Bayport Container Terminal, effective Oct. 2, in response to continued growth, the U.S. Gulf Coast port said in a statement.
Hours of operation at the Bayport Container Terminal will expand to 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the in-gate closing at 10:00 p.m.
Currently, the hours of operation at the Bayport Container Terminal and at the Barbours Cut Container Terminal are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the in-gate closing at 6:00 p.m.
Bayport Container Terminal averages 5,000 truck transactions each day.
Ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting’s Terminal Analysis tool shows the Bayport Container Terminal is currently called by eight fully cellular container services connecting it to ports outside of the United States.
In June, maintenance dredging was completed on the Bayport channel, fully opening the Bayport Container Terminal to receive 45-foot draft vessels, the port said.
