Impala Terminals said the Spanish port’s new logistics facility for the storage and blending of minerals and metal concentrates can handle over one million tons of imported and exported products each year.
The Port of Huelva, located on the southern coast of Spain, has gained a new logistics facility for the storage and blending of minerals and metal concentrates.
The new facility is 80 percent owned by Impala Terminals Group and 20 percent owned by Berge Infraestructuras y Servicios Logisticos SL.
Impala Terminals said it has invested over 60 million euros (U.S. $63.7 million) into the facility, which is capable of handling over one million tons of imported and exported products each year.
The facility has a storage capacity of about 240,000 tons. In addition, a further 70,000 square meters of adjacent land is available for future expansion.
“This is a project for the future, which will mean employment and economic growth in the province and highlights the strength of this great mining port in southern Europe,” said Javier Barrero, the president of the Port Authority of Huelva.
