Port of New Orleans appoints Charbonnet board chairman
Bernard L. Charbonnet Jr. was elected chairman of the Port of New Orleans’ board of commissioners. He will serve a nine-month term.
Charbonnet first served on the port’s board in July 2000. As a principal of Charbonnet & Associates Planners and Consultants, his firm has provided master planning and environmental management services for several Louisiana airports. He is also the former general counsel for the New Orleans Aviation Board.
Also elected to the to the board for a five-year term is Danny Hughes, who succeeds David Guidry. Hughes is chairman and owner of Diversified Group, a New Orleans-based firm involved in ship repair.
