The port says it is not suffering from a shortage of chassis.
The Port of Oakland said September was its busiest month in more than a year. The port said it handled 207,412 containers at its marine terminals in September, up 2.9 percent from the same period last year. It was the highest number since August 2013 when 209,138 boxes were handled.
Imports moving through the port’s marine terminals were up 7.1 percent in September from a year ago, while exports dipped about 7.3 percent.
In contrast to complaints the the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the Port of Oakland said it had no chassis shortages in September.
