Port of Oakland terminal reopens

According to a statement from the port authority, all terminals were operating normally on Thursday.

The Port of Oakland said Thursday all of its marine terminals were open and operating after its largest terminal was shutdown earlier in the week over a disagreement over work rules.
Employers and shippers alleged longshoremen engaged in illegal work stoppages at Oakland International Container Terminal, despite the tentative agreement last month between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and Pacific Maritime Association on a new, five-year coast-wide contract.
“All marine terminals are open today at the Port of Oakland including Oakland International Container Terminal,” said the port in an operational update. “That terminal suspended yard and gate operations March 11 due to a staffing dispute. Six vessels are at berth today in Oakland and 7 await berths. Moderate truck traffic at Oakland International Container Terminal gates. Light at other terminals.”
