European fashion retailer Primark and contract logistics solutions provider Exel announced Primark officially established a presence in the Northeastern United States.
European fashion retailer Primark officially established a presence in the Northeastern United States with the opening of a distribution center in Bethlehem, Pa. in which contract logistics solutions provider Exel, a wholly owned entity of Deutsche Post DHL Group, operates.
The new facility, which occupies 677,080 square feet of leased space, will serve as Primark’s distribution center for the North East, where the company plans to open eight stores by the end of 2016.
In addition to managing the Bethlehem DC, Exel will also be responsible for transporting merchandise to the company’s stores.
The fashion retailer’s first store in the United States is scheduled to open in Boston, Mass. Sept. 10.
Primark, which is a subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc, has 290 stores located in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and France.
