PROFIT, REVENUE UP FOR TROPICAL SHIPPING

PROFIT, REVENUE UP FOR TROPICAL SHIPPING
   Tropical Shipping Co. posted increases in operating income and revenue
for the fourth quarter and full year of 1998.
   Tropical, a Nicor Inc. subsidiary that specializes in the Caribbean,
reported fourth-quarter operating income of $10.1 million, compared with
$8.9 million a year earlier. Revenue rose to $63.2 million from $60.2
million.
   For the year, operating income was $27.6 million on revenue of $224.5
million, compared with $25.3 million on $213.1 million in 1997.
