Projects FPS, the forwarding and third-party logistics (3PL) arm of Famous Pacific Shipping Lanka, has launched a dedicated logistics center that will incorporate new functions at a prior storage and document archiving facility in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Located in the commercial area of the Port of Colombo, the new Projects FPS facility will handle 3PL functions such as labeling, packaging, storage, inventory management, and nationwide distribution.
Project FPS will also provide offsite document storage and management, including archiving, retrieval, transportation, and secure destruction. The company said it hopes this will extend its reach among existing and new customers.
All activities in the facility will be controlled by a custom-designed warehouse data management system that customers will be able to link to, allowing them access to information about existing goods inventory and documents, as well as a history of their movement.
