Prologis building warehouse for NYK in Norfolk
ProLogis said it will develop a new distribution center near Norfolk for NYK Logistics.
The 130,800-square-foot facility will be located on 34 acres in the city of Chesapeake. The site offers direct access to the Port of Virginia, which comprises marine terminals in nearby Norfolk, Portsmouth and Newport News.
NYK will operate the warehouse as a deconsolidation facility for Target.
ProLogis provides 2.9 million square feet of distribution space to NYK at multiple locations around the world, according to Lane Turner, president, warehouse division, NYK Logistics.
