PSA International has entered a joint venture with Beibu Gulf Port Group and Pacific International Lines to form a container terminal in the rapidly growing southwest Chinese port.
The joint venture—called Beibu Gulf-PSA International Container Terminal Co., Ltd.—involves the operation and management of a total quay length of 1,533 meters and a container capacity of 3 million TEUs per year. It will also include super-post Panamax cranes for handling the largest containerships. Operations of the new terminal are expected to start during the fourth quarter of this year.
