Red Toe Soda calls on Kenco Logistic Services
Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Kenco Logistic Services will provide transportation, warehousing, and logistics management for new Atlanta-based soft drink company Red Toe Soda.
Red Toe Soda started production at the end of last year on its range of carbonated, low-calorie, fruit-juice based sodas aimed at the school market, when its previous warehousing arrangement fell through.
'It was on a Wednesday in December, just two days before the products were coming off the line,” said Red Toe Soda founder Jon Stallings. 'Needless to say, we were in a bit of panic. Manufacturers don't want your product piling up on their floors. The situation required some urgent attention.'
After Stallings contacted the logistics provider, Kenco picked up six truckloads of the drink product from Red Toe Soda's North Carolina manufacturer, Carolina Beer & Beverage, to its warehouse in Chattanooga. Kenco has since coordinated with the manufacturer to implement a logistics system to track inventory and distribution.
