RedPrairie powers FosterÆs Loger

Logistics software provider RedPrairie said Tuesday that global beverage firm Foster’s Group has rolled out RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management System at 14 sites in Australia and the USA.

The system was implemented on budget and on time, according to RedPrairie.

In 2001, RedPrairie implemented its WMS at three Foster's sites in Victoria, Australia. Three years later, RedPrairie implemented its WMS at Foster's largest facility, the production and distribution operation at Yatala in Queensland, Australia.

Foster's, makers off numerous beverages including Foster's Lager, has been a major proponent of advanced logistics automation for many years.    Its 215,000-square-foot Yatala facility, which can produce more than 25 percent of the total beer production in Australia, is automated and features a mass accumulation table holding over 100 pallets ready for direct loading and transportation.

Foster’s has also incorporated other leading-edge technology into its distribution centers, including voice picking and laser-guided vehicles.
