RedPrairie has announced that its warehouse management system (WMS) increased in total market share by growing at a faster pace than the overall WMS market in 2011, coinciding with news of the availability of its RedPrairie WMS 2012.1.
The company’s latest release features better integration with RedPrairie Workforce Management (WFM) and offers a hosted Traceability Solution, which it said will mitigate risk by providing visibility and quick execution of product holds and recalls. The update also adds performance updates around bulk picking, extended support for GS1 standards, and better supplier-managed inventory-control options to handle the transfer of inventory ownership.
Clint Reiser, enterprise software analyst at ARC Advisory Group, said the future of the WMS space will need to address better integration among multiple systems including workforce management and traceability offerings.
RedPrairie said its recent growth outpaced the WMS market when compared to ARC’s Warehouse Management Systems Worldwide Outlook.
