Report: CMA CGM to sell container trucking specialist

French trucking operator Jacky Perrenot will acquire the container transportation activities of CMA CGM subsidiary Greenmodal Transport, according to a report from Lloyd’s Loading List.

CMA CGM has agreed to sell the container transportation activities of multimodal subsidiary Greenmodal Transport, according to a report from Lloyd’s Loading List.
A spokesman for Perrenot confirmed the company’s takeover of Greenmodal Route, a division specializing in container transport. Perrenot will retain Greenmodal’s entire workforce of 80 employees and pick up around 60 trucks and depots in Marseille Fos, Le Havre and Lyon in the transaction. The company will be re-named Perrenot Fos.
In addition, the agreement includes an exclusive contract for Perrenot to provide over the road transportation services for CMA CGM’s containers in France.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CMA CGM has been selling non-strategic assets as it prepares to integrate the newly-purchased networks and systems of Neptune Orient Lines, parent of container carrier APL. This latest news comes just a few months after Greenmodal Transport sold its warehouse management arm, TCX, to Le Havre-based Seafrigo.
