Rico acquires majority shareholding in UK logistics company

On Jan. 18, United Kingdom-based courier services company Rico acquired a majority shareholding in Circle Express, which provides a collection and delivery service that is specifically targeted at the UK airfreight forwarding industry.

   The United Kingdom-based courier services company Rico acquired a majority shareholding in Circle Express Jan. 18, Rico said.
   Circle Express, which provides a collection and delivery service that is specifically targeted at the UK airfreight forwarding industry, is the only UK operator that is fully licensed to transport all classes of hazardous materials.
   With a countrywide fleet of 300 vehicles, Circle Express operates out of eight aviation security listed depots near UK airports at Heathrow, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and a cross dock facility in Milton Park, Abingdon.
   Rico, which is a subsidiary of worldwide logistics group TVS, operates over 40 branches around the UK and Ireland, from where it controls over 1,400 courier vehicles each day. On a global level, Rico operates in 16 countries including Australia, India and countries throughout Europe.
