RoadLink Acquires Seattle drayage firm
Drayage specialist RoadLink Wednesday said it has expanded into the Pacific Northwest and extended its presence in Canada though the purchase of West Coast Trucking (WCT), the Seattle-based intermodal trucking service provider.
With major operations centers in Seattle, Wash. and Portland, Ore., WCT moves containerized freight between ports or rail terminals to a shipper’s or receiver’s location, serving ocean carriers, shippers, railroads and intermodal marketing companies with a fleet of 70 trucks.
“The acquisition contributes to the strategic expansion and direction of RoadLink as we continue to look for opportunities for growth on the West Coast and across North America,” said Chris Munro, Roadlink’s president and chief executive officer.
Dan Gatchet, owner and general manager of WCT, will join RoadLink as area manager of the company’s Pacific North Area.
Atlanta-based Roadlink is owned by Fenway Partners Inc., a private equity firm based in New York.
