The Russian container transport company Ruscon handled 113,387 laden containers during the first 9 months of 2015, a 6.3 percent increase from the corresponding period in 2014.
The majority of the company’s business continues to be handled through the Port of Novorossiysk; followed by the Port of St. Petersburg, which comes in second; and the Port of Vostochniy and the Port of Vladivostok combined, which come in third, Ruscon said.
Ruscon handled 89,669 laden containers at the Port of Novorossiysk during the first nine months of 2015, a 6.8 percent increase from the same period in 2014. In addition, the company handled 19,323 units at the Port of St. Petersburg and 4,395 units at the Port of Vostochniy and the Port of Vladivostok combined during the first nine months of 2015, year-over-year increases of 1.6 percent and 18.9 percent, respectively.
Ruscon Chairman Vladimir Bychkov attributed the company’s success to an efficient combination of products and services, which allowed Ruscon to benefit from a strong imports market in food products and exports of raw materials. In addition, Ruscon maintains a strong balance between inbound and outbound flows, which helps ensure it has access to containers needed by its export customers, the company said.
Ruscon, which has a presence in all the major seaports and regions of Russia and neighboring countries, belongs to DELO, Russia’s largest transport holding company.
