Ryder expands food packaging ability

Ryder System, a third-party logistics services provider, has expanded its food packaging and distribution capability through enhancements at its facility in Beaver Dam, Wis.
The Beaver Dam Logistics Center (BDLC) serves food manufacturers with frozen and refrigerated requirements.
BDLC was recently expanded with a 15,000-square-foot, temperature-controlled addition Ryder will use to target companies needing to package refrigerated and frozen foods, vegetables, fruits, and meats. BDLC now has a total space of 342,000 square feet.
Ryder also added a packaging line with seven-station blending capability, and includes high-speed robotic palletizing and automatic and semi-automatic cartoning.
BDLC processes about 75 million pounds of goods annually. It will be operated in part by Ryder Supply Chain Solutions, a business segment of Ryder System, which operates more than 28 million square feet of warehouse space in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Singapore, and Europe.
