RYDER HITS $1.5 BILLION MARK FOR MANAGED GOODS
Ryder Integrated logistics Inc., based in Miami, said Monday that it now
manages more than $1.5 billion in common carrier freight shipment
transactions annually.
The goods cited are part of a Ryder-designed and managed supply chain
scenario, using optimal intermodal combinations.
"Many supply chains don’t lend themselves to dedicated closed-loop
transportation where vehicles leave and return to the same location," said
Raymond B. Greer, president of Ryder Integrated Logistics.
"Carriers often can serve the desired routes on a one-way basis, meeting
time windows and adding to the cost efficiency of the system," Greer said.
Ryder received $5.3 billion in revenue for the year ending March 31. The
company’s assets totaled $5.9 billion.
