Saddle Creek buys ProLog

National logistics services provider Saddle Creek Corp. last month said it acquired ProLog Logistics Inc., a warehousing and fulfillment company located in San Diego.
Lakeland, Fla.-based Saddle Creek said ProLog will enhance its order fulfillment capabilities, further expanding available services that include warehousing, transportation and contract packaging. Saddle Creek has more than 14 million square feet of warehouse space under management.
ProLog, established in 1996, offers order fulfillment, warehousing, e-commerce, call center and customer care service from locations in San Diego and Lexington, Ky. Saddle Creek is in the process of integrating some of ProLog’s specialized services into its own distribution centers.
Saddle Creek said it will retain ProLog’s current management and employees and the company will continue to operate as ProLog Logistics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ProLog is Saddle Creek’s second acquisition in just over a year. In November 2010, the company bought ServiceCraft Logistics, a third-party logistics provider based in Buena Vista, Calif.
“We will continually work to ensure that we offer the right mix of integrated logistics solutions to optimize supply chain performance for our customers,” Saddle Creek President Cliff Otto said in a statement. — Eric Kulisch
